Nobel Prize in literature for a Polish writer
On October 10, the world went round with information about the awarding of the Nobel Prize in literature to the Polish writer Olga Tokarczuk. This is a great distinction for Poland. Earlier, Henryk Sienkiewicz and Czesław Miłosz received the Nobel Prize in literature. Before winning, Tokarczuk, Poland was last awarded in 1996. Wisława Szymborska took the prix.
Here are some of the works of this year's winner:
- Miasto w lustrach [The City in Mirrors] (in Polish).
- Podróż ludzi Księgi [Journey of the People of the Book] (in Polish)
- Prowadź swój pług przez kości umarłych [Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead].
- Księgi Jakubowe [The Books of Jacob] (in Polish)
Based on one of her books, the screenplay for the movie Pokot from 2017 was created.
It is a great honor for Poland and for Polish women.
Congratulations!
